My name is Mthokozisi Nkosi. It is my belief that I`m an inspiration with a story that must be told. In fact, I have told my story in my book titled “Step out of your comfort zone and start living your dream.”
Born and grew up in Mpumalanga Province, I spent my early days as a child in a place called Perdekop; later relocated to Volksrust. I went to Boitumelong Senior Secondary School where my passion for writing began. Encouraged by my English teacher, I would enter book reading contests and became an avid reader until now.
In 2006 I volunteered for the LoveLife programme, where I ran life orientation classes at different schools, presenting motivational modules. There was no salary but it was here that I developed my public speaking skills.
One day a friend and a neighbor who was a cleaner for Prestige at BPL gave me a learnership form which I completed. I was called for an interview and enrolled in the BPL learnership programme. After completing the programme I was employed by BPL and became permanent staff as a claims administrator.
While at BPL I also joined Toastmasters International. My first assignment was to give 10 speeches. The idea for my book began as a speech titled “Kicked out of my comfort zone”. This was the story of my life, having been disowned by my late father and forced to live on my own and survive.
In September 2016 I made an important decision and resigned from BPL to pursue my dream of being an author and motivational speaker. My book is about how I stepped out of my comfort zone. I truly believe that the opposite of courage is not fear – it is being comfortable. To be courageous you need to be uncomfortable. Life is about conquering your fears. Most people stay stuck in one place and complain about their situations but the problem is their own fears.
I find fulfillment in educating, motivating, inspiring, mentoring, coaching and helping others to realise their full potential. My priority lies in providing selfless service to all in need of help and advice.
